Mr McCLELLAND (Barton) (12.38 p.m.)—The opposition fully supports the amendments. The amendments provide additional clarity and assist in the Criminal Code Amendment (Suicide Related Material Offences) Bill 2005 achieving the appropriate balance between its object of preventing people from encouraging others to commit suicide, on one hand, and, at the same time, enabling people to engage in legitimate political debate, so the opposition fully supports these measures.
